Q. What is Internet Banking?
A. Internet banking is a web-based service, facilitating the execution online transactions. It's convenient and easy to use and allows customers to securely do their banking via the Internet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
Q. What do I need to make use of this service and how does it work?
A. All you need is a personal computer that is connected to the Internet, any browser of your choice i.e. Microsoft® Internet Explorer.
Q. How do I sign-up for Internet banking?
A. If you already are a customer of Standard Bank Swaziland, all you have to do is visit one of our branches with your identity document (id) and account number to complete a registration form with one of our customer consultants
Q. I'm already registered for Internet banking. How do I sign-on?
A. As long as you have an Internet connection, simply open your browser and log on to Standard Bank website and click on the Internet banking link on the right hand side. Enter your user id and password as requested and you will be allowed access to your accounts.
Q. What is a one-time password (OTP)?
A. It is a single, unique and time-sensitive password used as added security on internet banking. The password does not replace your user ID and logon password. The one-time password will be sent to you via SMS.
Q. How does OTP work?
A. Your password will be sent to your cell phone whenever you perform transactions that require an OTP. The system will prompt you to enter your password after which you will be able to continue with your transaction.
Q. Which transactions require me to use an OTP?
A. Adding company and private beneficiaries, Amending company and private beneficiaries, Changing your cell phone number
Q. Do I need a different OTP for multiple transactions?
A. A single one-time password can be used to load or amend various beneficiaries during one internet banking session. However when you also try to change your cell phone number a different one time password will be submitted to you.
Q. How will you send my OTP to me?
A. Your OTP will be sent to your cell phone via SMS.
Q. Can I use an OTP a second time?
A. No, it is only valid for one Internet banking session so once you have used your OTP for an Internet banking session, you cannot use it again.
Q. Can the original password be resent to me?
A. No, whenever you perform a transaction requiring an OTP, a new password will be sent to you.
Q. How long is the password valid for?
A. It is valid for:
- One Internet banking session only.
- Fifteen minutes from the time you receive it.
Q. How secure is Standard Bank Swaziland Internet Banking?
A. The latest electronic encryption technology ensures the secure transfer of information over the Internet. Our internet banking service is safe. Because your account security is important to us, we have built safety measures into the Standard Bank Swaziland website which reflect the importance of this issue. You'll be allowed to change your own password, and all information sent and received is encrypted.
Q. Does Standard Bank Swaziland charge to use the Internet Banking service?
A. There is currently no Monthly charge but there is a charge for beneficiary payments. For more details, please click here
Q. I am having problems accessing the Internet Banking application. What could be the problem?
A. Be sure you are connected to the Internet and you are currently logged on to the Internet banking application. If you are on a dial-up connection, viewing statements may be very slow due to the poor Internet connection. However, we encourage you to have patience and maybe click the refresh button if it takes too long to get access. The page would only work using an internet explorer browser.
Q. What if I forget my User id and Password?
A. If you forget your customer access user id and password, you should visit your nearest Standard Bank Swaziland branch to request for the resetting of your user id and password.
Q. Can I view all my accounts via the Internet, including my accounts at other branches of Standard Bank Swaziland?
A. Yes, you can view all your various accounts. Our internet banking package enables you to view your accounts irrespective of the branch where the account is domiciled.
Q. How secure is my transaction?
A. The safety and confidentiality of customers’ personal information and transactions are our top priority. The security system makes use of the latest in technologies, standards and business practices to guarantee customer account security.
Q. How long does it take for third party payments to reflect on the receivers account?
A. When payments are processed to clients within Standard Bank Swaziland it will reflect instantaneously on the receivers account and for payments to third party banks within Swaziland it will take approximately 48 hours to reflect (2 working days).
Q. What do I type into the “Transaction Description Box” when doing an inter account transfer?
A. This is an optional field and for your personal use. You can enter any descriptive word or sentence that helps you identify and remember the transaction you carried out. 24 characters can be used for this purpose.
